Should be fairly identifiable from the gasworks (if in fact the school in the titles was the same as in the actual programme).
Anyone know? I would have expected somewhere around the South Bank, and from my experience with Grange Hill locations, I'd half expect it to be long gone by now. Most was done on a sets in the studios of course (love the wobbly outside walls!).

The school used for the opening title sequences was Gibbons road primary school in 1968( this later became Sladebrook 1972-73 with the addition of a large new building )however the interior shots are a mixture of Leopold road school and Oldfield road school, I attended Sladebrook from 1974-1980
season 1 used the front playground of Gibbons road for the title sequence
season 2 used the back playground of Gibbons road for the title sequence
with the final photo the group shot being against the sports hall
And to correct the earlier comment it was not a gas works next to Gibbons road it was a coal fired power station and was demolished in the mid 70's.
