shareSorry it has taken so long for someone to reply to you. I didn't remember exactly which episode it was but I came across it today.
It is Season 1, Ep. 20 - Nobody Wants a Fat Jockey; original air date was Feb 24, 1970.
It really does sound like he's being harsh with her, doesn't it?
I do remember back in 1970 Doctors were very harsh with overweight people. I know back then i was 5'4" tall and weighed 130 lbs. and they told me i was overweight. I know i wasn't skinny but I didn't think i was that fat. But they said it bluntly "you are too fat."
shareBack in 1970-71 I, too, was 5'4" and 118 and the MD seeing me for appendicitis claimed I was "a BIG girl". Give me a break. I struggled to stay between 135 and 145 all through high school. I won't even hint at what I weigh now!
shareMarcus should have had the same observation about Consuelo.
According to IMDb:
Universal Studios, which hired her quite frequently, would not sign her to a studio contract because she refused its request that she lose weight.
