shareI liked the curly version....because if he had curly hair in an episode, it meant the episode was among the later seasons, which I preferred. I didn't like the stuffy, early seasons (which looked like they were done in the 60's....the kids were way young....everyone dressed more "formally", etc.). In the later seasons....(in the 70's), the colors and styles were more fun and vibrant, and hip-70's.
So....rather than stuffy 1960's Mike with the short hair and grey suits....I preferred the cool, 70's era Mike (with the longer wavy hair, more relaxed styles, etc...
As a kid, I had a strong negative initial reaction to his curly hairdo but it grew on me. I still prefer him with straight hair, parted.
