'Banana Bill' Cosby

I went to summer camp in LA in 1968 and '69, and could swear my cabin counsellor was Bill Cosby -- he looked, sounded, and acted like the Cosby I knew from his LPs and TV work. I sent Cosby a letter after I grew up, asking for confirmation, but never got a response. Does anyone know if Cosby did some "field work" at the Jewish Big Brother and Sisters of Los Angeles' Camp Max Straus in '68 or '69?

My counsellor just went by "Banana Bill," with no last name attached. Maybe I should write to Camp Max Straus itself!
