An amazing Benny Hill skit

A couple days ago, on "The Benny Hill Show" on BBC America, there was a skit on a train where Benny did great impersonations of: Buddy Ebsen (Barnaby Jones), Dennis Weaver (McCloud), Telly and George Savalas (Kojak), Raymond Burr (Ironsides), and William Canrad (Cannon).

Great line from the skit- Benny as Dennis Weaver- "I know everything" (and others admitted all kinds of things).

First, the sketch was originally from March 24, 1976, called "Murder on the Oregon Express"; second, Mr. Ebsen's Barnaby Jones was impersonated by Bob Todd. But I agree, this was one of the absolute highlights of his whole show. Also had Jackie Wright as Peter Falk's Lt. Columbo, and Jenny Lee-Wright as Angie Dickinson's "Sgt. Pepper" from "Police Woman." Oh, yeah, Benny also did Albert Finney's Hercule Poirot from the 1974 all-star "Murder on the Orient Express." Had to love that "shiplofting and pockpicketing - er, shoplifting and pickpocketing."

there are so many skits to name here, but one that comes to mind as i'm writing is "the herd". this was a spoof of dallas. i remember benny playing the old matriarch in bed saying "i never eat the blackberries, i always put those back" and the nurse spitting the chocolate out of her mouth--she had one of the blackberries! this show just brings back alot of old memories. jackie wright, henry mcgee, and bob todd were all great in their supporting roles. last but not least, hills angels--enough said! jf

LOL! The scene in the corridor where Cannon and Sgt. Pepper get stuck.. Watch Hill's glance at the camera during the "Die of Ecstasy/starve to death" line. He was a real artist. BTW, I think that someone has posted it on YouTube.
