I remember this as part of one of the Thanes TV shows. He's a Confederate (Always the rebel) coming home from the war. At one point, he meets a woman, and tell her "I've been Fighting for PEACE, and NOW I want a PIECE of what I've been FIGHTING FOR!" LOL !

That was "Home Is The Hero," part of "The Movie Shakers: Mervyn Cruddy" sketch of his Nov. 24, 1971. His lady love, Miss Abigail, was played by Jenny Lee-Wright, the man to whom she was to be bethrothed was Henry McGee, and the black servant was Bob Todd in blackface. The bursts of laughter between Mr. Hill and Mr. Todd, and the way the whole sketch went, was reminiscent of some of the Harvey Korman / Tim Conway sketches on The Carol Burnett Show.
