I have been a fan of the books years ago, and in the last year or so, I have got several of the books again.
I hadn't been aware of this, so is it any good?

not really good. more complete trash on a very silly level. perry rhodan fans were very upset with the movie.
shareif you like easy going, pop corn fun - it's good.
if you like to nit-pick and expect superhuman perfection, you'll be disappointed

Wicked cool movie with a groovy song playing during the opening & closing credits.
This is the kind of movie Roman Coppola celebrated with his movie "CQ" (2001) and Stephen Bissette champions on the Extras section of the "Danger: Diabolik" (1968) DVD.
But be forewarned: you can't appreciate any old movie unless you're willing to accept the context (culture & technologies available) of when & where it was made.
