Is this scene in this movie?

I saw -- I think -- this movie in the theater when it came out. I remember a scene that had a person in some kind of chest(?) drawer. It was scary or tense in some way as I recall.

Is this the movie with that scene? If so, can someone tell me more about the scene?

I also seem to recall a scene with a fly on a wall I think. This movie?

My memory isn't great and it's not getting any better as I get older.

Thanks!

There is a scene in which the School chaplain is shot and afterwards those responsible get a ticking off from the headmaster and are told they have to apologise to the chaplain. At this, the headmaster pulls open a huge drawer and the Chaplain is lying inside.

That's gotta be it! I only remember feeling pretty weird, and maybe scared (or something) about it. Thanks a lot!

That.was surreal - that and MIck and the girl.making love naked on the cafe floor. Everything else before the final reel was plausible. The sex scene - can imagine him having a girlfriend outside the school.

Both of those scenes are in the movie.

I think the fly is on the wall because Mick is practicing shooting at it in his room. (I haven't seen the film in years, so I can't remember exactly.)

The priest in the drawer is actually symbolic filmmaking. It's quite an effective directorial flourish. In the movie, the Crusaders have a sort of "mock execution" of a priest, with fake ammunition; in their eyes, the Priest is in service to the state, like a puppet. So in terms of symbolism, it's entirely appropriate that the priest is kept in a drawer like a puppet, at the service of the School (which represents the state and its built-in military apparatus).

It's completely understandable for a film, directed by a gay man, to be critical of the Church and to depict its agents (priests) as puppets for those who really hold power.
