Who was your FAVORITE kid?

From the NORTH kids-mine is Phillip (Eric Shea)! He could never catch a break!
From the BEARDSLEY clan-it would have to be Mike (Tim Matheson)cuz he was just so damn good-looking and of all of the Beardsley siblings, he resented Helen the most and I like how he started to bond with young little Phillip!

Picking one out of that mob? I'd have to say the oldest daughter as I was about her age when I first saw this movie. I often wonder what her life was like when she grew older, what kind of woman she turned out to be. Did she go on to have a career, lead a glamorous life - or 'settle down', live in a house down the street with a sturdy husband and start cranking out kids just like Helen?

reply

Philip hands down! Eric Shea stole the show!
Runner's up....Veronica the little artist. Susan the over eater and Colleen the typical teen.

reply

Phillip and Susan! Philip was so sweet!!

Move, and I'll sock ya one!

My whole family loved Mary(?) Beardsley -- she's the one who is crying while her Dad pins her dress. Also, when she's trying to find her room "Could you just point?"

reply

Many good performances, watched it last night for about the 100th time..LOL.

Liked Susan and was sad to see Holly O'Brian passed away two years ago.

reply

How sad that Holly O'Brien (Susan) passed away, she was young too.

I have the same two favorites.

The good looking one - Tim Matheson.

Next is the dark haired daughter that goes to the emergency nurse station - don't know her name. She became semi-famous later.

The boys: Philip

The girls: Veronica

"She has mean eyes!"

reply

bpollen, that's Morgan Brittany, but she was going by her real name in the film.

reply

Greg Beardsley. He's now a huge power broker in Hollywood. Appears to be Tom Hanks' bff.

reply

One of the magnificent things about the film is, every single kid is memorable even if he/she only has one or two lines or moments in the spotlight. Amazing screenwriting!
