John screwed the producer of this film over good

I was listening to the DVD commentary last night and it was funny that John Lennon was so insensitive and lazy and waited till the movie was almost finished and THEN he came in and scribbled out "Hey Bulldog" in the studio with Paul and forced the producer of this film to cram that sequence into the film when there was really no place for it.

That made the film late going to United Artists and so they were heavily fined (something like 10,000 pounds that had to come out of the guy's pocket, not the Beatles and they were just throwing money away in those days to stupid people like "Magic" Alex and the Fool) cause it was late.

AND THEN....da da da...nobody liked the song so McCartney asked them to cut the sequence from the final release (although it did show at the World Premiere once)

So he should have demanded John and Paul pay him back.

The sequence was not finished in time to be included in the USA cinema release (you'll notice when comparing the two cuts you'll also notice the inclusion of some alternative "filler"/test footage during the final battle and "It's All To Much") though it was included in every subsequent cinema release version except the original USA version, though oddly the original VHS edition used one of the prints as it's sauce. However the TV, laserdisc and DVD editions contained the sequence.

It was recorded during the Lady Madonna sessions and not specifically for the movie. If they so strongly disagreed with it's inclusion then McCartney, Starr, Harrison and the producer surly had the power of veto? I find it hard to believe that even in 1968 nobody was able to stand up to the "tyrannical ego maniac" Lennon.

"I think you're a load of old crap too, Mr Mulligan."
