The Best Director for this...

The best director for a live action version of this would be Tim Burton. Either that or stop animation like TNMBC, Corpse Bride, or Coraline because that would be friggin awesome too.

I agree. I would love to see this remade or re-imagined by Tim. He is a genious. You have good taste, jeffandyourothers. Right-O!

There's no way a live action version would work because .. well, two of the four Beatles are DEAD. And even Tim Burton can't bring the dead back to life.

And casting other people to play the Beatles would just be dopey (sorry Disney). LOL

I know the voices in the original YS weren't the real Beatles voices but I'd be distracted looking at someone else pretending to be a forty-year-ago version of John, Paul, George and Ringo. The fake mustaches always look bad.

I'll rent "Walk Hard" if I want to see bad impersonations of the Beatles

I'd to see people cast who sort of embody the spiritual characteristics of the beatles, but are intentionally cast to look absolutely nothing like them.

I'd also like see such a film directed by Michel Gondry.

Richard Lester, if he's still alive and working.

I think most likely, he'd look at the original and tell Disney "no way you're going to improve on that, I quit".

Terry Gilliam?
