Why didn't the Beatles provide their own voices?

Anyone? I didn't even realize they didn't until tonight.

They may have seen producer Al Brodax's TV version (it hadn't much dignity) and thought that he was doing that again. Once they saw it they went like "Oh, it's good" and agreed to do the short standup at the end.

That's the story I got, but I can't link you to a source. Others have offered that being an animation voice is harder than it looks and it was probably fortuitous they used professionals.

Interesting. Thanks for your response!

because they weren't very good actors. and you need a particular kind of acting talent for cartoons.

Not the best explanation. They were good actors for the kind of films they put out, where they played themselves. Maybe voicing cartoons is a different story, but it has nothing to do with their acting abilities.

They weren't interested and, at the beginning, wanted as little to do with the film as possible.

It wasn't until they saw the finished product and they realized how far superior it was to the Saturday morning cartoon series that they agreed to do the cameo scene at the end.

That is a great story and I love that and love seeing them at the end. It's a real treat.

Let me know if I'm on your ignore list.
Thanx!

For years I thought Lennon supplied the voice of the head Blue Meanie. I wish he did. He could have totally pulled it off.

Just saw this post. I always thought they did.
