Academy Award Winner!

You should know (or you probably already have) that I'm proud of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day to win the the Academy Award for Best Cartoon Short in 1968. Do you think he deserved it? Who agrees with me?

reply

i agree! i love this one...it reminds me of my childhood.

reply

Absolutely. One of my favorite cartoons. Very clever, with the words blowing from page to page by the wind. Great songs. And Tigger was hilarious.

Where can I view this short?

I'm afraid you're gonna have to buy it on either video or DVD. It was put on the Pooh's Grand Adventure DVD, released last year, in its original version, or you can see it as part of the recent DVD release of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

I wound up buying the DVD of "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh."

I've always enjoyed it when I was a kid. Just saw it a couple of days ago, go figure. It was pretty cool to see it again.

And it came at a somewhat difficult time in Pooh's career and personal life, so I think he appreciated the award all the more.

I loved that it won, and I think the Honey Tree should have at least been nominated for Best Cartoon Short.
