I was kind of hoping the movie would end...

with a jump cut to 10 years later, and they're showing Max being dragged off to the concen...er, I mean "rehabilitation" camp, with him pleading with the soldiers to let him go free or whatever. And then they could show...whatever the name of his account, the one who was 15 sitting in the Oval Office, having taken Max's place as the new Cza...er, I mean President.

Sorry, it's hard to not see a lot of parallels with this story and certain real life instances of certain individuals who believed rehabilitation camps and forcibly removing other people from power was "the way forward to a new and brighter tomorrow". You ever read a book called Animal Farm?

We don't need that jump cut to spell it out for us because we're shown enough (and can figure out enough for ourselves) to know that Max's deeds are going to backfire on him. It's already starting to happen by the end of the film.
