Millions have wanted to post in support of a DVD release but no one wants to be the 'second' poster. One man tried to do it but chickened out so I, I will take the spot of second poster and say yes, yes release this as a DVD! Now we will watch the millions and millions of others adding on to this post--it took over three years for this second post, but now that the barrier has been broken, let's watch the others just flow in like water running through the overflows at the Hoover Dam!

OK, I'll make it three.
Bob Crane fans deserve to be able to see this film.
Or, release it to those late night horror film creature feature people who man late night weekend television. They'll give it the respect that it deserves.

Don't despair, you guys. I'm next. I'm dying to see just how bad this movie is. I tracked down an actual novelization of the film, but I haven't yet decided to buy it. Do yourself a favor and check out websites like moviegoods.com and see the lobby stills. I downloaded small versions of them years ago and they still give me a chuckle. Oh, by the way, did I mention I LOVE BAD MOVIES??????????????

There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

It's pretty dreadful - weird for most of the cast of HH to be in it - yet - WOW!!
I always thought - still do - HH is hilarious - in a silly, nonsensical way.

Someone objected to this material as being in bad taste -- like HH in a WW2 camp. Poor guy doesnt realize
1- it's a comedy;
2- the differences between POW camps and the SS camps were vast;
3- identical to Get Smart during the cold war fighting KAOS - it's a TV James Bond ripoff... Wild Wild West was identical but for the comedy part;
4- at 8-10-12 yrs old watching HH - i prolly read more WW2 stuff than any other kid my age;
5- MOST IMPORTANT - read the bios of the actors who were the "bad guys" in HH - Klemperer in particular said 'no' many times - finally agreed with ONE stipulation was honored all thru HH.

Some times the worst movies are the most fun to watch.

I saw this movie when it came out in 1968. Remembered very little of it and the cast (except Elke Sommer and Bob Crane) but it all came back to me when I caught it on THIS-TV a few nights ago.

Hilarious.

And a bit reminiscent of James Cagney and Horst Bucholz antics in 1961's One, Two, Three in which Leon Askin did what he did best, played a comic German agent.

In case anybody is interested, there's a paperback novel (maybe a marketing thing when the movie came out) available through Amazon for a few bucks.

I believe I have this on VHS (taped off-air) but support the call for a DVD release. Watching this on a b&w TV on WWDC Ch 20 c. 1974 was a formative experience for me.

It's not just you... I'd love to own this movie on DVD. I haven't seen this movie for eons and had actually forgotten about it. Oddly enough, the reason I came to this board tonight was because it's on AntennaTV tonight and I'm watching it as we speak. I forgot how freakin' hilarious this movie is.

Saw this on its original release and remember my friends and I thought it was hilarious. I may have seen it on tv once or twice since but cant reslly remember much except Elke Sommer half undressed at times.

When I saw it I was disappointed definitely not the quality humor of HH
