Does any of you know how much this movie grossed?

I want to know it because I've heard of the enormous budget. But was it successful?

Probably not. But remember, this film wasn't built to make money. It was made sort of as a 50th anniversary celebration of Communist Russia, and no expense was spared in the production of this film. It's truly amazing.

This movie was produced first and foremost for internal consumption and sold 135.200.000 tickets in Soviet Union alone. With then on-going rate of 4 US dollars to a rouble this would amount to 540.800.000 unadjusted US dollars. Whatever came in from international distribution didn't really count, and was never reported.
Also, it was not produced to celebrate any Soviet anniversary, as the first two parts were released in 1965, and the last part premiered in 1966 but was pushed to 1968, exactly not to be released in a year of 50th anniversary of Communist revolution (1967)

What exactly War and Peace has to do with the Bolshevik revolution? Have you seen the movie, or God forbid, read the book?

It depicts events around 1812 AD, concentrating on the members of Russian aristocracy and High Society. There were another 105 years to go to the October revolution of 1917.

It cost 8 million rubles ($9 million) and grossed 58 million rubles ($64 million). That would be about $400 million in today's money from a population of just under 300 million. It pretty much compares to a standard Hollywood blockbuster in a country roughly the same size, although that is spread out over four films.
