Question: which movie did I see? (spoilers)

Just discovered this, along with the original, Planeta Bur. I saw one of the movies decades ago on TV, never knew what the title was. Here's what I remember:

The robot, John, is lost in a pool of lava. The ending shows a primitive tribe of women discarding their old idol and then finding John, now encrusted with solidified lava. They manage to prop him up and make him their new idol.

Does someone know which version I saw?

I've just seen this version on the Showcase channel and confirm that this is the version you must have seen as the two scenes you describe were in it.

Thanks for the feedback, but I don't see any mention of the actual title. I happen to have just found it. It was a Soviet film called Planeta Bur, or Planet of Storms in the English translation.

Auto-Tune is not a genre. Please stop treating it as such.
