POE-try

Apparently it is very difficult to turn a Poe story (or poem) into a convincing film. I did see a stage version of The Tell-Tale Heart once that was really good. The mood of all 3 of these short films feels true to Poe's work though, and Terence Stamp looks like a blonde EAPoe, especially with all that anguish and dark circles under the eyes.

All 3 movies seem to achieve that one overwhelming effect that Poe was always going for too--usually one of terror or revulsion or dread. I enjoyed watching them and think the directors were at least true to the spirit of Poe's work.
