Induces Vomiting

Watch this film and The Tree of Life the same day and you can't keep from vomiting. Absolute abyssmal and worthless--both of them!

I HATED TREE OF LIFE.

This one I was OK with though.

Team Great Gatsby

I give them both 6/10.

They aren't completely dreadful, but neither one rises to the level of competent filmmaking.

What I did like about Teorema is the cinematography. I didn't like the shakycam, but ignoring that, almost everything was presented in simple beauty.

Both masterpieces. You induce vomiting.

I Sympathise with Lars Von Trier.

reply

Even if I don't sympathise with Lars Von Trier and didn't like "The Tree of Life", I agree about the vomiting part. ;) Seriously though, "Theorem" is an amazing film; Terence Stamp had such interesting roles in the 60's and 70's.

"The tree of life" was directed by Terrence Malick, not Von Trier.

reply

I'm not sure why you feel the need to point out that. I wasn't suggesting that Von Trier directed "The Tree of Life"; I just jocularly referred to the content of the other poster's message.

reply

Wow. 2 years later, and I just watched The Tree of Life and Teorema one after the other.

Yeah, definitely hard to take!

This thread is one of the best I've stumbled upon in some time. Yes. I mean, no, I don't agree with you, but, yes.

Thank you.
