Please, if you care to explain...

Would anyone would care to explain if what I got from the movie is what I should expect to?

I was in some deprivation from watching Tarr's Werckmeister Harmoniak and found both movies very similar, the only negative is that I couldn't finish Tarr's movie. I fell sleep in both movies because I was tired and watching it in my bed, but Teorema kept me going back to watch it, while on Tarr's I chose to give up.

About Teorema I found the explanation below to fit it the one I myself got from the movie.

Sarastro7:

It's not that difficult - I think this is an extremely unsubtle movie that is very clear about what it is doing. It's basically about the countercultural movement of its day; how the progressive left-wing ideas led to the corrosion of the bourgeois nuclear family, the destruction of its values and identity, forcing them to reinvent themselves. But because the countercultural movement (Terence Stamp's character) withdrew again, society evolved too slowly, and finding a new identity in accordance with their exposure to the changes was very very difficult. So they went into emotional and spiritual dissolution.

I'm sorry about my choice of words, but here it goes:

So god in all his might and mistery to human condition comes down to earth in revolutionary times in Italy, he choses a very wealthy and traditional family to stay with and *beep* the brains out of all the family members, including the maid.
-He drives the chast girl mad from his love
-He turns the son into a post-modernist revolutionary
-He puts the mother into full contact with her sexuality, being married, a libertine.
-He turns the maid into a saint(the whole thing about communism/fascism seeing the worker as a saint?)
-He turns the father, an industrialist, into a socialist, who after giving up of all he has, goes insane. Not very different from what we have today in certain places.

AmIright? Feel free to correct me, but you don't need to insult me, I'm ready to read about your opinions or my lack of understanding at face value. No need to call me names.

Would anyone help to address any metaphors I missed or the ones I need some help to get find in a possible rewatch?

One last favor. Should I watch Salò? I have it ready on the chamber, I'm just not sure. I have seem many of Noé's movies like Void, Seul contre tous and Irreversible.

Thanks in advance.

You should most definitely watch Saló. It is a complex movie and it may be shocking for a lot of people (it was banned in many countries for years and there is also this theory that pier was murdured due to backlash from the movie). But it is trully a fine movie, really intense for the time it was made.
But most of all, it can be pretty uncomfortable. I waited for a while to be mentally prepared because you know, Saló or 100 days of sodom doesnt sound like a walk in the park. The metaphors are good and I think Pier was a really good artista so go ahead and watch it! =)

Also, I totally agree with your take on the movie! I didn't feel that Terrence was necessarily portraying God bue maybe clarity, freedom or something else...

I did, turning my eyes at such moments, but I did it.

I don't regret it! My brain went into a complete override after watching such movies. I admire the creativity and daring some directors are capable of with their allegories and metaphors. They say so much, without dumbing it down to words.

Some stuff in these movies stay with you forever. I do not regret seeing it.

I apologize for my previous post, it may seem to crude, but I tried to be fast and objective with my words. I do not advice people into watching it without preparation and clearly, enough happy and ludic movies into the chamber after you had seem Salò. Teorema is great though if you can see through it.
