I'll tell ya....I've been a projectionist for 30 years....
and this was one of the toughest ones to correctly show.
It was very hard to concentrate on the reel change-over
as the drive-in projectionist gets shot right at the actual the reel change.
I always thought it'd be fun to let the film runout at that point
and just slump over one of the projectors. :)

( Another tough one was "The Harder They Come" ...
where the change-over happens as a guys face gets sliced up with a knife)

'Fight Club' was weird too, as the reel change comes actually right when he's discussing reel changes in the film, and the changeover cues you see in the film (that he calls 'cigarette burns') are the actual changeover cues to the movie.
