'...was filmed in its entirety in New York City' ??

During the final credits there was a blurb in part:
"...was filmed in its entirety in New York City".

And here I thought the bungalow was located at Greenwood Lake NJ. The apt. was supposed to be located in the Bronx. OK, the exterior shots around their apt. bldg. were shot in the Bronx... but was the lake scene shot in Central Park ?? LOL ! Last time I was in Central Park there wasn't a bungalow in sight !

And, they made sure the street/apt exterior shot of Neal walking down the street had the appropriate period cars in view but not so during her bus trip in which 60's era cars could be seen through the bus window. Budget constraints or they just didn't notice until too late to re shoot the scene ? Even the final credits were shown over a still of the street with 30's/40s period cars so its not that they weren't mindful of how the cars should appear. Strange they overlooked or choose to ignore ...no way of knowing I guess.

And where was that large seaside resort she went to on the bus. Not anywhere in New York City that I know of, though it may have been as close as Long Beach, Long Island. Theer were a lot of large hotels around when the film was made.

It may have been a long-demolished building in the Rockaways (Queens County, NY City)but I have my doubts.

It wasn't Long Island, It was New Jersey!

The big old hotel Pat Neal walks up to was The Monmouth which was torn down in 1975. The Beach Pat walks on is Belmar beach, and the restaurant where she dines is the Belmar Fishing Club, thriving better than ever, right on the ocean in Belmar NJ.
