S.O.B. spoof; little people alert

1. "Star!" and the studio's handling of it was brutally satirized in S.O.B., which called its turkey "Night Wind". BTW any movie title made since 1979 with the word "Wind" in it is an inside joke.

2. LITTLE PEOPLE ALERT: Star!'s final song throws in some little people dancing in red sequin suits, which is weird in and of itself. This song was spoofed in SOB's musical number which climaxes with Julie Andrews taking her top off. She had a good sense of humor about her image.

S.O.B. was a spoof of the circumstances surrounding Darling Lili, not Star!

The little people in the climactic "Jenny" number from Star! were costumed in nightgowns (two of which were red), but the only ones wearing head-to-toe red sequined suits were the devils - and they weren't portrayed by little people.

But you're right, Julie Andrews has always displayed a good sense of humor about herself.

I definitely recall seeing little (male) people wearing red sequins in Star!. Unsure if the sequins are head to toe because the shot is only a few seconds long, but it was disturbing enough to remember.

Well, it's hardly disturbing to see little people in this number, as "The Saga of Jenny" is a dream sequence with a circus setting; that's why we're watching trapeze artists, tumblers, clowns, a strongman, and yes - little people. Nor do I think it's disturbing to see them in sequins, since every costume in this number has sequins (although those worn by the little people have comparatively few). The latter wear nightgowns which are trimmed with sequins at the very bottom; their sleeping caps also have sequins. But when it comes to "red sequined suits," as you mentioned in your first post, those were worn by the dancing devils (when Jenny is rejected by Heaven).

God, this must sound STRANGE to anyone who hasn't seen Star!

However, it's all for real, and those who don't believe me can watch the number here -
