Stashing It at Ellie's Place

(SPOILER) So, McClain leaves the massive pile of guns and cash in his ex-wife's completely open-to-attack apartment and leaves for the night.

Doesn't make McClain look that sharp.

It's a fun movie, but there's a laundry list of decisions that point to the fact that McClain wasn't that sharp.

For me, the biggest one was no masks for the stadium heist. They were in the cash cage for the whole game and the cage crew was looking at them the entire time. Afterward, they would have been able to describe them to a sketch artist with perfect realism. McClain spent time assembling a crew and guns, but couldn't pick up a few masks?

I think this movie is just trying to fast forward to everyone fighting over the money they stole. So, they just want to get past the heist and get to that point.

reply

You're right. But it was an odd choice because assembling the crew, the heist, and the getaway was more interesting than most of the bang-bang stuff in the last twenty minutes.

reply

Agreed. The heist set up and execution were well done. The rest we've seen in other movies before, and it was better done in those other movies.
