Locations

I was trying to figure out the location of the apartment building where Carroll's character lived. They give a fictional address - 1205 Longmans (I think). The "reverse" shot of downtown was faked.

I did find out info on the apartment building from which Sutherland shoots out the tires of cars - they showed the actual name, El Portal Apartments, and address of 3981 S. Menlo Avenue. If you Google the address, you come up with an interesting LA Times article about its purchase and demolition by the Coliseum Commission in 1988, to put in a parking lot. However, it's believed that they wanted to get rid of the gangs living there, next to the Memorial Coliseum. It was a bit of a controversy.
