Copies Of Something For A Lonely Man, For Sale

Hi, my name is Joseph “Robb” Roberts, and I saw the review of “Something For A Lonely Man” on the I.N.M.D.
I have been searching for that movie since I saw it premiere night in 1968. Now, after over 35 years, I’ve
Found it!!!!!!!. I have a friend on the MSN Classic movie chat line and she knows I’ve been searching for the movie for ever. She came across this private collector she thought might have it and said for me to email him and give it a try.

I did, and he did have a DVD+R copy of the movie. Now it is a dub of a dub and a bit grainy but it does not have a blip in it. Copies sell for $20 (1st class) shipping.

If you would like a copy or just info on one, just E-Mail me, Robb Roberts from Green Bay, Wi. [email protected] I will send you the info on how to get a copy.

Fellow “Something For A Lonely Man” fan.

I know it's been since August that you put up that bit about buying the copy of "SFALM". My dad talks about this movie all the time. I cannot find it anywhere! If you could help me out and still had access to this movie, that would be fabulous! Please let me know!

Thank you,

Gem

Do you people know it is illegal to sell copies of movies? It is illegal to copy movies from television, or from hard copies of a movie or music and re-sell them. All movies are copywrited, as are television programs and music. It would be like recording music off the radio and selling it. It cuts out the manufacturers and the creators of the movies and songs, and you can get a fine up to 10,000 for doing it. Please, check the laws, I wouldn't want you guys to get in trouble for doing this.

reply

Have you ever jay-walked?? I'll bet everyone has at least once. That's illegal too and a lot more risky to your health!!

To Hell with the Laws when a good movie that they won't release themselves can't be found any other way. Ever heard of civil disobedience? OK, so maybe buying this movie isn't worth the risk of being sent to the gulag. I realize it's not the world's best movie, and it's been over twenty years since I've seen it, but the story and Dan's character left that much of an impression on me that I still remember it. Besides, I don't think any of these people are going to start their own movie theatre and make you pay to watch it.

But I get your point and it's well taken, thanks for the warning.

This isn't civil disobedience. This is theft.

For one thing you both are idiots. It is not illegal to sell a movie or music if the items are in public domain. Ever heard of "public domain" Most movies and music that were made before 1978 do not fall into the Sony Bono act which means they are in public domain. Sometimes a movie goes into public domain because the copyright isn't renewed. Several episodes of Bonanza are in public domain because their copyrights weren't renewed. Before you talk know your facts
