Thought of this while reading 'Blood Meridian'

I just read the novel "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy and I kept thinking of this movie while I read it. The tone of the two stories is VERY different (McCarthys tale is very dark and violent) but the depiction of the scalphunters of that era was very similar. In addition the character Jim Howie in "The Scalphunters" is very similar to Judge Holden in BM in both appearance and his personality. Was wondering if anyone else is familiar with both stories and found any similarities as well.

Yes, very similar to Blood Meridian.... Except McCarthy's villains discovered an ear is an ear ia an ear and didn't discriminate who they got it from. I think McCarthy's villains would make mince meat of the scalp hunters.....!

A lobotomy means never having to say you're sorry.....
