Liked everyone but Cassevetes

I'm one of the people that read the novel first and had a vision of Guy-- supposedly a young and very handsome actor. I thought Cassevetes looked old, not super attractive and acted way over the top, ie hitting the calendar when discussing conception, jumping crazily trying to learn how to use crutches, and even his acting in the motorcycle commercial. Just too much overacting.
