50th anniversary of the film

I was a year old when this film came out, but have seen it many times over the years. On YT, there are a few clips of the actors making appearances to mark the anniversary. That's sweet they are still good friends.

I was older and I cannot remember when I first saw it but I've seen it many times since and now I have a copy so I can watch it whenever. Still one of my favourite films.

Do you like the more recent versions with Leonardo C., in the 90's or the 2013 version with Hailee Seinfeld?

This movie was part of a perfect date night package for me with a very nice girl I liked when I was in high school. We first went to Pizza Hut, then the movie and on the way home, we smooched in the back of the cab. I actually found her awhile back on a class reunion site.

I've not seen the 2013 version but it's a very good cast and I find Hailee Steinfeld watchable so I'll add that to my lists. I'm afraid I found the Baz Luhrmann version with DiCaprio and Claire Danes very disappointing because I couldn't understand what they were all saying half the time. I like to hear the words with Shakespeare and in this version only Miriam Margolyes and Pete Postlethwaite were clear to me. I don't believe this is just an American vs British thing because one of my favourite Shakespeare films is Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing, which is an un-showy and well spoken production that I've watched several times.
