Hi there,

Does anyone have an idea how the hell I can get hold of a region II version of this movie? Nowhere seems to have it!

You can order this DVD from the Amazon - Germany site. Go to the bottom of the USA site and click on Germany.
Search: Der Gehetzte der Sierra Madre

The movie has English subtitles - you have to use your DVD player's menu to activate them. It took a few tries for me to get the English to come up.

Note that you need a Region Free player too.

Or VLC Media player on your computer (which ignores region codes)

Verily I say unto thee...a restored version is to be shown at the London Film Festival in October and I guess it won't be too long after that we get a Region 2 DVD release.

The German Blu-ray is shipping from Amazon (Germany) already. I received mine today, and hope to watch it sometime between now and mid-week.
