deleted/trimmed scenes?

I just watched the dvd from 20th Century Fox of Pretty Poison.
then I watched the trailer of it on the same dvd.
anyone here else notice that some scenes in the trailer
are not in the dvd or are different?
Such as when she is drowning the elderly watchman in the river.
in the trailer she is almost humping him down.
( a brief scene is also in the movie flashback when Anthony Perkins wakes
up at abut 56 minutes into it.
also in the trailer when the watchman gets hit by the wrench.
Its more clearer in the trailer with some blood.
I wonder if the version on the dvd is the cleaned up copy of the movie for television broadcast in the 1970's?

Nope, it is very common for trailers to have material in them not seen in the final product.
The trailers get made up earlier and frequently use discarded shots or outtakes.
