The trucks up the mountain scene.

I always wondered how they were going to get all that equipment up after the trucks and jeep made it up the mountain.

Michael Caine ordered the trucks unloaded so they could be lighter which makes sense but do you think that they would have just tied up the stuff on those sand tracks and just slide them up?

It also seems unlikely that they would have been carrying that much steel cable to begin with since it takes up space and is heavy thereby using up precious fuel.

I wonder if this scene 'inspired' Werner Herzog's boat-up-the-mountain scene in Fitzcarraldo? It wouldn't surprise me, all directors are thieving pyakaroons. I went to primary school with George 'Happy Feet' Miller and though I can't prove it I suspect he stole my favourite red socks on a school camp. I wouldn't turn my back on a director for all the red socks in Taiwan!

I too wondered about the effort to carry all that stuff up the hill. And can you imagine what that much cable would have weighed? No way would they bring that!
