Was too young to see it in theater, but remember enjoying the whole series on TV in the 70s.
I prefer the apes portrayed as actors with masks to modern CGI apes.

Like you I was too young to see any of the apes movies at the theater, but I do recall admiring the lobby cards with General Ursus for Beneath outside a movie theater and seeing the trailer for Conquest and begging my mother in vain to see it. I too saw the movies on TV, watched the TV show and cartoon and collected all the Mego figures and Marvel magazines. The modern CGI apes are terrible compared to the old actors in make up apes.
