I didn't watch this until the late 90s

I wasn't born until 73 so this was obviously before my time, I remember in the 80s hearing about it and being told I should watch it, it wasn't until around 96 to 97 that I finally watched it. I remember thinking how cool it looked for a 60s movie, great detail to the sets, I thought their spaceship that crashes into the lake had a great interior look to it. Nova was smokin' hot. The ending was great as I was shocked by it, that was fun to see it then for my first time and nobody had ruined the ending for me after all those years.

Now I'm disappointed that IMDB is taking away these message boards so that some of us don't get to tell our stories anymore.

So, IMDB removal of the IMDB "Message Boards" on Feb 20 refers to the removal of their movie "Discussion Board"? WHAT? C'mon IMDB! The IMDB discussion board is the best feature of the IMDB website. That is so crap.

Everyone should boycott IMDB until they reinstate their "Discussion Board"

I figured out it was Earth as a child when Zaius said that the forbidden zone was once a paradise and that his breed had made a desert of it ages ago and BOOM I thought pollution or nuclear war, a totally sensical twist for the time I saw it and I was right. I did not know he would see the statue of liberty but after Dr Zaus last speech to Taylor I realized it was Earth.
