Oh, the irony! (Claudine Longet)


She was cast as the oh, so innocent and virginal ingenue who is exploited by the morally bankrupt Hollywood because of her phony baloney appearance of being oh, so cute and wide-eyed. She was also most likely cast because she was French; an underlying theme of The Party is that foreigners are more pure of heart than Americans, who tend to be cynical, judgmental and cutthroat. And look what happened almost 10 years after this movie was made. She murdered her boyfriend in a jealous rage.
