Does anyone agree that this is the best football movie ???

There are no GREAT football movies, but I'd put Paper Lion just ahead of North Dallas Forty and The Longest Yard (1974) as the "best of the very good".

What about "Invincible", "The Bad New Bears", or "Fearless"?

The Bad New Bears is a football movie ??????

"Brian's Song" was a decent football movie, and how bout "All the right moves".

What about The Waterboy? Best football movie ever!

Free The West Memphis Three!!!
Falconetti Did It!!

Invincible is ok, but I wouldn't watch it more than once.
However, I wouldn't mind wall-papering my home with pictures of Elizabeth Banks.
She's gorgeous, funny and I hope she's a likable person in real life.

I'm not a woman much less Deanna Durbin, but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.

It's absolutely the best football movie. Alex Karras is great.

Varsity Blues was good.

So many good football movies depending on what you're looking for. Remember the Titans is a great feel good movie. The Replacements and Necessary Roughness both hilarious movies. Varsity Blues and Friday Night Lights grittiness. Invisible sucked and so did We Are Marshall. I fell asleep during both.

We Are Marshall is very good.

I liked Marshall but it has it's flaws. Invincible is ok but dumb. I don't like comedy football movies, but ironically one of my favorite films is Slap Shot, so idk.
And let's not forget Against All Odds. Maybe I like that for personal reasons.

I guess I'd put Paper Lion and North Dallas Forty neck and neck.

Rudy ftw

Pretty good movie, but definitely not the best football movie ever made. Football movies such as "Remember the Titans," "Brain's Song," and "North Dallas Forty" were much better, at least in my opinion.

This is an unusual football movie. It's almost like a documentary but it's obviously not. Mostly it's a comedy, but it's meant to be taken seriously. Being a Lions fan, I love this film, and I like Alda so I really like this film. But it's a little hard to categorize.
Lately I've seen We Are Marshall. That's an important story, and I like how Matt Mac's energy interrupts how sad the whole thing is, so along with Paper Lion and Brian's Song, I guess these are my favorite Football movies. Marshall is a bit over-blown and maudlin, but it still works, imo.
