A death never to be forgotten!

I also am a fan of this film. I haven't seen it since its cinema release over here in 1968 but there is one scene I will never forget. Thats the scene where the assassin gets dragged along by the subway train - screaming - and has his head squished against the wall as the train rushes into the tunnel. I remember myself and everybody else in the cinema recoiling in horror. I think what made it really nasty is that the accident shown could very well happen in the subway - or underground as its called over here in the UK. In fact it possibly has! Which made the death seem completely plausible and therefore even more horrifying.
The other thing I remember is Raymond Burr - that nice inspector Ironsides - being absolutely terrific as the villain. Theres a great scene at the end where he traps Peppard in his own private hunting reserve and does a "most dangerous game" number on him. He's really frightening here.
Having just written that it fires my appetite to see the film again! Thats my wish for Santa this year - can some big film company release the film properly and uncut on DVD. Please Santa........!

The scene got to me as well when I saw it as a kid. The TV version totally cut it out.
