Favorite Song?

What are your favorite songs from this movie. They are all very catchy and make you want to join in singing. I like the one Joe and his girl, (can't think of her name) sing to eachother before she goes to school.

I like that one...." 'Bout Time "

"Dakota." John Davidson was such a heartthrob in those days.

I know this thread was started years ago, but I'm chiming in now. I love the songs from this movie and remember them fondly from childhood. We had the Disney record and I played it often. (also loved non-Disney Chitty Chitty...). Anyway, I love "Dakota" (yes, John D. was dreamy) and still sing it sometimes in the shower and also "Let's Put it Over with Grover." I think this could be revived as a Broadway musical. The storyline is quite relevant today regarding party politics, etc.

"Americans are obsessed with God & money, but they're warm-hearted & energetic"

It's very relevant today, and odd for Disney in the 60's! Also odd that Ebsen was a democrat and Brennan a republican - a testimony to their acting skills they could do opposite roles like that. All the songs are good - and very underrated. Let's Put It Over With Grover is great. Some band should cover it! ;-)

This has to be up there as one of my top fave Disney Films, I'm 27 and first discovered it wow must have been about 16 years ago we used to always rent a couple movies from the local video store on Friday Nights. We were looking on the Disney wall and my dad picked it out, looked kind of boring to me but right after it started I was into it. Beautiful score, so well done. Was so glad when it came out on DVD, had got into a bidding war on eBay just a couple years before on a copy of the out of print VHS. Great acting.

I totally agree that this would definitely cut it as a stage adaptation and maybe even s family friendly television series. The music was uplifting and fun. The characters were and there issues were dramatic.
