What a shame.....the original musical version is wonderful. I guess there are no ideas for something new anymore.

I have no problem with it being remade. The original is the great one. Will be hard to top that, but the OLIVER! on the whole gives opportunities for real craftsmanship.

I'm up for this, as long as they include the missing songs.

Let Zygons Be Zygons.

NO missing songs. "I Shall Scream, My Name and That's Your Funeral" are stage songs. They don't work in film.

Why, oh why do people remake movies whose originals are perfectly fine? They should remake movies that should have been good but are flawed. Carousel, South Pacific, Camelot, Paint Your Wagon, Finian's Rainbow, Mame, Brigadoon. These are some of the movie musicals just screaming for remakes.

If they happen to do this, I have some ideas for a cast:

Oliver Twist- Colby Mulgrew

Artful Dodger- Elliot Reeve

(Everyone else I don't know)

Remade as a musical? I suppose it has to be, though no one has clamored for a musical in decades.

I only pray there won't be FLEETS of boy dancers, in tights, prancing around on their tippy toes with corsets and top hats. And women in big clean ruffly flouncy can-can skirts, doing the same prancing.
