WHY IS THIS MOVIE NOT AVAILABLE ON DVD!

This is a great film. I recorded it (VHS) from Television about 10 years ago to use in my Humanities classes. I have since lost the recording.

I am astonished that this film is not available on either VHS or DVD. I think that is a crime.

I have never seen it, but I agree.

Just a few days ago, I read a review of the Kenneth Branagh "Hamlet", which has just been issued on DVD. This reviewer commented that practically every movie is now available in that medium. Obviously he hasn't seen a lot of films, or he wouldn't have said that. I am flabbergasted by the number of good films that still have not made it to DVD.

THIS MOVIE WAS SHOT IN MY HOME TOWN IN GREECE WHERE I GREW UP. I AM ACTUALLY IN THIS MOVIE AS WELL AS MY BROTHER AND PARENTS AS EXTRAS. MY BROTHER AND I HAVE SEVERAL CLOSEUPS. I HAVE A VERY BAD COPY ON VHS. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS FOR IT TO BE RELEASED. I DON'T KNOW WHO OWNS IT SO I CAN SEND THEM A MESSAGE.

I have been searching for a copy of this movie for some time now. My grandfather Alexandros Maniatakis was in this movie, he is no longer alive and I would really love to get a copy of this movie.

If anyone would like me to send them a DVDR of this movie (free of charge) get in touch with me on [email protected] and send me their address.

I would love to see this. The play is intriguing.

Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do.

Does anyone have new info on this?

I have yet to find a good/straightforward version of Oedipus to show to a high school class.

A very poor quality version is currently streaming in parts at YouTube. It's from a degraded, stretched-out videotape, but (just barely) watchable. Worth it for the absolutely amazing cast.
