Why the heck did they only schedule the movie for one showing? I missed it!

reply

Head is actually pretty good. This movie however is basically pointless, even to someone like me who managed to develop a teenybopper crush on Peter Noone forty years too late.

reply

I also manged to develop a crush on Peter Noone.
I am 23 too, where did that come from?

Awww, he is so cute though.

reply

Coincidence city!

You know what's funny? Not too long ago my myspace was covered in pictures of Mr. Noone and (Lords knows how) the real Peter found me and befriended me! It was hilarious, but rapidly turned a little creepy because a) he actually talks to his friends/fans and b) nowadays he's older than my dad.

But yeah, it's ridiculous how cute he used to be.

reply

Ah, Keith Hopwood was always the Hermit for me - I think those twinkly blue eyes and beguiling smile could've talked you into pretty much anything!! *sigh* Peter is a nice chap though, he may be a bit full of himself but he really does appreciate and make time for his fans.

Ah, I love Herman's Hermits!!

reply

Talk about synchronicity. I got the soundtrack to this movie a few days ago, I hadn't heard some of these songs for quite a while. I wanted to see if it was going to be on TV anytime soon and my search brought me here. Seeing that it aired back in October of last year and I missed it was really a bummer. Then I went to turner classic movies site to see if it was scheduled to air again and I find out it was on THIS MORNING AT 6 AM and I missed it again. I guess I'll have to watch their schedule so I don't miss it again.

For a movie of this caliber it turns up on TCM fairly often. Funny you mention the soundtrack-I finally replaced my beat up L.P. with a CD too. Quite surprised to see it reissued. Nice job they did on it. Really enjoy Herman's Hermits I must say.

reply

As I mentioned I watched the schedule and managed to finally catch this movie today on TCM.

Time to pull out the soundtrack again and put it into my music rotation.

reply

Both films are on TCM tonight. "Mrs. Brown" is on right now.

reply

I watch this movie mostly for the greyhound.

But then, I'm one of those crazy greyhound adopters, who will watch anything with a greyhound in it!

reply

The greyhounds are sweet but I watch for the clothes. Austin Powers wasn't much of an exaggeration. :)

reply

Yes, it's very . . . colorful!

I'm old enough to have worn those clothes!
