Yeah, I sent Criterion a letter a long time ago asking for them to please consider putting this film into their collection. Nothing came of it, obviously. I just don't get it -- they seem so big on world cinema but have nothing from Cuba.

I agree!!! Please Criterion, please!!! Release this great film... You have no movies in your catalog from Cuba!!!

I sent Criterion a request for this title as well. I'm pretty sure New Yorker holds the rights so I'm not sure if they would make them available to Criterion. Either way, this DVD release is long overdue.

I couldn't agree more, after my first sit through of the film the first thing I thought was, OK we need a Criterion version now :P

I've no idea what Criterion is - presumably a US DVD series by the things that have been said. But, notwithstanding that, just thought I'd let people on this thread know that it is currently on Mubi.com - sadly for only a day or so more. If you want to see it again, get in there quick. I'm about to watch it for the first time.
