Who compared this to Saving Private Ryan?!

I have nothing against Private Ryan, but comparing these two films is absolutely pointless, if you don't count the fact that in both there is violence and warfare. Given this, I am not surprised that one comment here said Marketa Lazarova was "one hour too long" and "grew boring": If I don't understand a film, it's of course the film that has to be bad - sure, no question.

true, and whenever you don't like a film, it's 'cause you don't understand it. if you think you're displaying anything but your own weakness of mind, think again.

well, i have something against saving private whatever. comparing such a masterpiece as marketa lazarova with a mediocre, conventional producer's film is almost offensive.
