Valentina Cortese

I am SO embarrassed! I watched this whole thing recently(for the second time; I think I saw it originally about 40 yrs. ago) and the whole time, I thought it was Valentina Cortese who played Rosella! In fact, I thought she was playing TWO roles: that of Rosella and that of Countess Bozo. Wow, was I wrong! I wondered how this Rosella Falk got that good part, but saw her date of birth and realized, well, she's a Scorpio! And Scorpios are very strong and usually get what they want!

To Valentina's credit, she did look BEAUTIFUL in the role of Countess Bozo.

Yeah, yeah, I know this film is considered to be very kitsch and skeezy, but, heck, I love films like this! I love Peter Finch, and I have always adored Kim Novak. So kill me, already! I can't help it! But I do agree: The last part of the film made the film SUCK. Aldrich must have lost his mind!

I recognized her because she was in Juliet of the Spirits. As for the last part of the movie, it's basically a snuff film ending plus dog food commercial. People took a lot of drugs in the late sixties...

just saw this awful film on TMC and had to turn channel before I died of boredom. how can the beautiful Kim Novak, handsome Peter Finch, and often great director Aldrich have made this tripe?

Don't know, but Kim quit making movies shortly thereafter. She is bipolar and so was probably a huge pain, but she came across well on the screen. PS Saw Valentina play a young Italian singer in the movie Malaya [1950]. I think she married Richard Baseheart in the fifties.
