TCM Late Nite, Goke, Body Snatcher

What an excellent surprise this movie was. I found the characters very current considering the date the film was made. The overtones regarding the state of humanity have apparantly changed little since the movie was made, or let's face it, corruption has not changed since before Rome. I wish the movie was broadcast a bit earlier in the evening, however movies of this sort suit my tastes just fine in the silent dead of night. I wish I was able to tape it. And am hoping to find or see it again very soon. A film to be enjoyed on many levels. Simple, elegant and claustrophibic. Great elements for a film of this nature. Almost a bit simpler and more straightforward in a George Romero sort of way.

This movie very infrequently airs on the cable channel "Turner Classic Movies," often called instead by its acronym, "TCM." Or were you just being a wiseass?

I actually saw this for the first time last night (4/17/09) on the Independent Film Channel. Don't know what made me stop and watch it but I'm glad I did. The red sky as seen in the airplane cockpit is the exact same screen gleaned by Tarantino for the Kill Bill movie when the Bride is flying to Japan.

Grab a copy of this movie where you can. A bit cheesy, but it is indeed a good kind of cheese!

That's 'cause Tarantino never saw anything he wouldn't steal.

I'm watching it now 10/16/16. Supposedly the red sky scene in Kill Bill is an Homage to this film director.
