I don't know if Genevieve Waite was anorexic or maybe naturally very thin her daughter is actress Bijou Philips and she is extremely small

reply

everyone who had a slim build looked like that then. part of it was the clothing. i loved this movie. it defined much for me, too, cannot really say why, don't know....donald sutherland in this part was very wonderful, i thought.

i remember so well the color 'joanna green' that hit fashion later. i still love the color....

the rod mckuen poetry, eh...but the songs were great...

I loved it as well. It evovoked the feeling of 60's London as nothing I previously seen.
I had no idea G. Waite was an actress. I remember her album, which was greatly underappreciated by album buyers(Ithink it was around 1975?), but it was critically well received.
I noticed that Michael Chow was listed in the credits! Think of all the paparazzi who would have nowhere to loiter hoping to shoot a sell-worthy celeb photo had he chosen a film career.

I don't know, but in the late sixties, the "Twiggy" look was all the rage (anorexic, extreme eye makeup, very stylized fashion). That's probably why the Joanna role was cast as such.

That's what the director says on the DVD.
