Comcast Got It Wrong

I was expecting the monster baby in a movie under the same name. Bella should have ran a little further after Greely pulled off his belt as I'm sure his pants would have dropped and he would have tripped and broke his crown. Bella's recollection lasted 23 minutes. I cried man, did I cry. Thank you, Annabelle Weenick.

Oh my gosh! Am I mentally challenged or what?! They showed this on IFC last night and I had heard of it and knew what it was supposed to be about - a monster baby (that's also what the synopsis showed). As the movie progressed, I kept trying to pidgeon-hole this movie into that one. I kept expecting a rape scene - ala - The Beast Within. Then I could get into the movie for real - the monster baby. I waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . . then I realized 20 minutes before it was over that this was not the right "Alive" movie. I feel so dumb!

I know I was waiting and no baby, I have Charter Comm. they got it wrong to, I still liked the movie though. Great old spooky old house in the south flick, the monster was so lame.

I thought the same exact thing samhain777. I was oping for a monster baby the whole time. This movie was a little creepy though. Would make a great remake if someone wanted to update it....and throw in a monster baby!

reply

yeah. i guess a remake was contemplated. (the film finishes with the phrase "the end?" flashing on the screen.) the way i see it, the prehistoric "thing" rapes the shirley bonne character. then, some time later, the bonne character marries the tommy kirk character. and a few months after the wedding, she gives birth to....a monster baby. needless to say, the monster baby goes on a bloody rampage.

For what it's worth Time Warner had it wrong too.. I think this all adds up to IFC got it wrong, giving the wrong info to all the cable operators, who merely passed on 'bad' info from the network. How a major network could screw up to this degree is beyond me. I'm available to work there if they need some help!

reply

You got it right. I have Verizon and they likewise showed the wrong flick so it was IFC's mistake. I'd recorded it and got as far as the ridiculous creature surfacing in the cavern before checking here today and lo and behold it's a crappy 1969 TV movie. Glad I won't waste more of my time watching this horrid film.

reply

Funny, Verizon had it right for me...

actually, i think weenick goes a bit over the top in "alive." but that's to be expected, i guess. she was a local texas actress, not a slick, polished "professional" working out of new york or hollywood.

Bella's flashback was excellent!

That's true. The whole deal with "the whistle"!
Damn, that's just crazy! I mean, who would do THAT with a whistle?
