Fascinating !

I recorded this off the MGM HD channel (I'm in the UK) as I have a weakness for dodgy horror films, and I was not to be disappointed.

I actually liked the early footage of the drive through the Ozarks and the initial meeting with Thomas (Tommy Kirk) and then the arrival at the madman's house. There was a little bit of ominous atmosphere at that point.

I was quite gripped by the unfortunate Bella's back-story (all 20-odd minutes of it) and really enjoyed Bill Thurman's performance as an almost child-like madman - the whistle blowing scene and subsequent cackling glee made me laugh out loud !

Not too bad overall then - I'd seen worse - but then came the monster itself. Less would definitely have been more - let's just leave it at that. Worst movie monster in history ? Very possibly....and I've seen a few bad 'uns. His teeth wobbled !

Definitely worth a watch if you share my fondness for such films, and I'll give it a 6 for the whistle !!
