Alternate Ending?

I could have sworn that when I saw this on television circa 1980 or 1981, the film ended with a snake dancer being bitten mid-routine, and continuing to dance as the fatal venom took its course, all to a very haunting song. It definitely featured a cult, a snake dancer, a midget, an ending in a cave, and was produced in the seventies. Has anyone seen an alternate version of this that includes such an ending?

I am certain that this was a different movie...

There are two versions of this film. The complete version (called Island of the Snake People "Snake People", or Muerte Viviente), and a slightly edited one (called Cult of the Dead), where they removed a few non-essential scenes. The endings are otherwise identical.

I think many "voodoo" movies use the same themes: snake dancing with drums, cults, zombies, etc. Usually these take place on some exotic island, with a suggestion of a Haitian connection...

I am intrigued that there was a voodoo movie including a cave and a midget! If you can recall anything else about this movie, I would like to know about it.

I can either assume that my five-year-old mind misinterpreted the information I was seeing, or else there really is another film with that many similar ingredients. As you say, its a shoe-in to have snake dancers and tropical islands when dealing with voodoo themes, but an ending in a cave and a midget make what I remember a very peculiar concoction. I'll keep looking, with the idea that I may be remembering incorrectly.
