One of the greatest performances I've ever seen...wow.

Vanessa is just astonishing in this. What she does here to me is just....wow. She transforms completely, combines technical virtuosity with enormous emotional depth. This isn't an imitation of Isadora, but an embodiment of her spirit. What all acting should be about. I was shaking when i finished watching this. Vanessa is at the peak of her powers here. This is simply, the best performance by one of the best actresses of our times, and one of the best ever captured on film.

I couldn't agree more. Remarkable work from The Great Redgrave here.

Yes, Redgrave's performance was great. But other than that, the movie was not very informative. I hoped to learn about Isadora Duncan, why is she considered important, what was her contribution to culture? But the movie did not give a concise overview of that.

I think it does give us what we need to know about her influence, not by telling but by showing. The woman herself, as embodied superbly by Redgrave, radiates her incandescent spirit to the viewer. And the film was made at a time when filmmakers trusted the audience to understand & respond to that spirit, which was ultimately far more important in understanding Isadora & her impact than a mere recitation of facts.
